Eight years ago, karate at Hybrid Fitness Studio transformed my life, instilling discipline, strength, and confidence. With over 13 competition wins, this journey, supported by my parents, has been pivotal in becoming a better person. Karate isn't just a hobby; it's a lifelong passion and a source of empowerment.

We may be brothers, but in the kickboxing ring, we battle like fierce rivals. Our journey from martial arts film enthusiasts to national champions wasn't easy. The high costs of classes and camps tested us, but our parents' unwavering support kept us going. Today, as trainers at Hybrid Fitness, we're molding the next generation of warriors, living our mission and proving that fitness is a lifestyle, not just a score or physique.

I began karate at 22, inspired by Bruce Lee and Tony Jaa, and quickly earned a black belt. Expanding to Muay Thai and Dutch kickboxing, I discovered a passion for the fluidity and technique of these arts. This journey transformed me, shedding not just physical weight but also reshaping my mentality. I lead a healthier lifestyle now, approach challenges with confidence and a smile, and find fulfillment in seeing my disciples grow. Despite being a working professional, I dedicate time daily to martial arts, my true life's art, never having to use it for violence.

Struggling with bipolar 2 and as a freelance photographer, I found solace and structure in Muay Thai. This martial art has been instrumental in managing my mood swings and pushing my boundaries. The daily training demands mindfulness and resilience, transforming my physical and mental well-being. Eagerly awaiting each training session at Hybrid, I am driven by a goal to conquer my fears and compete. Inspired by '36th Chamber of Shaolin Temple', my five-month journey in Muay Thai has been a journey of self-discovery.

Since childhood, inspired by action heroes like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, my adventure into martial arts began. Eleven years ago, I joined my cousin's classes, sparking a passion that led me to kickboxing and eventually to becoming a trainer at Hybrid Fitness Institute. This journey has not just been about becoming a four-time State Champion or competing nationally, but about learning from diverse coaches and exploring various martial arts. It's taught me to dream big, leading me to my current role and fuelling my ultimate aspiration: to conquer Mount Everest. Every day, I'm closer to reaching that peak.
Aravind Anilkumar, 25
Guided by my father's encouragement, I embarked on my martial arts journey during summer holidays. Though he's not here to see it, his inspiration led me to Hybrid Fitness, where I've been a student since age 10 and a trainer since 2015. Despite financial hurdles, with my mother and sister's support, I persevered through classes. My trainers, Srijith and Sivaprasad, have been instrumental in my growth, encouraging competition participation, helping me forge my own identity. Karate, to me, is more than a sport; it's a life philosophy that instills confidence to overcome challenges. My next goal is the World Karate Federation Game, a dream I'm close to achieving.
